The St. Jude Classic relies on its volunteer committee leaders to “staff” each committee. Historically, very little turnover has occurred on our committees. However, from time to time a specific committee will need new volunteers. On these occasions, our committee leaders use the information collected from these applications as a recruiting base. If a committee leader chooses to recruit you, they will contact you directly. No other information will be sent to you from the SSJC Office unless a committee leader adds you to his/her committee. Thank you for your interest in helping our cause.
Volunteer enrollment for the 2009 St. Jude Classic is closed. To apply to become a volunteer for the 2010 tournament, please check back after July 1.
Greetings from the golf tournament office. We are hard at work preparing for the PGA TOUR’s 52nd straight trip to Memphis. As you may have heard, we have a new name – the St. Jude Classic. This year’s event will be conducted June 8-14 at TPC Southwind. In addition to the name change, here are some other updates and modifications to this year’s volunteer program:
Once again, each volunteer will receive a uniform shirt and cap/visor. This year’s shirt is a navy blue cotton/poly blend and is courtesy of Brooks Brothers.
Volunteers are asked to provide their own “appropriate-length” khaki bottom garment.
The Uniform Distribution Center trailer has been moved this year to the residential side of Island Drive…just east of the main paved parking lot at the TPC Southwind clubhouse. This trailer is located adjacent to the site of the Volunteer Hospitality tent used during Tournament Week.
Perhaps the biggest change is our migration to a web-based volunteer management system. Email and the web have become our only communication device with volunteers. It is imperative that you keep your contact information – and especially your email address – up to date on our web site.
We will continue to ship uniforms and credentials packets to those volunteers who live more than 50 miles from Memphis. Please notify the office if you prefer to pick up your items instead of shipping them.
